Social networks are becoming a part of teenager’s life. Most of the youngsters spending much time on the net for chatting and social network updating.

in a recent report the one of the biggest social network site myspace.com announced the names of 90,000 registered sex offenders . US taking this issue as a serious think and taking measures to minimize the issue. The new issue is all about spoiling the children registered with the social networks and finding a solution to prevent it.

“Almost 100,000 convicted sex offenders mixing with children on MySpace — shown by our subpoena — is absolutely appalling and totally unacceptable,” Mr. Blumenthal said in a statement. “For every one of them, there may be hundreds of others using false names and ages.”

MySpace’s disclosure follows a report by the Internet Safety Technical Task Force, a panel created by 49 attorneys general, that said the issue is overblown. It concluded the problem of bullying among children, both online and offline, was far more serious than sexual solicitation of minors by adults online.
After such issues only Face book(Another social network site) is showing just the name and thumbnail image of the users in the search ,so that it prevent getting connected by bad people. The people already known only can be connected other wise there will be a middle person to create connection between two unknown people. This idea is secured. Now MySpace started to monitor it’s users for suspicious activities.

Any how the better way is not allowing the under age people to register in such services. That can be simply implemented with the date of birth information.
