Unsatisfactory Camera Quality of N97 : see the samples
Much expected N97 seems to be less productive in the imaging area. Already I have written about N97’s video quality few days back. As a long time N95 8GB user and presently Nokia Xpress Music 5800 user ,I am not compromised with the photo/video quality of Nokia N97.

Xpress Music 5800 produces very ordinary quality images ,it is bellow the standard of N95’s (Yes XPM 5800 is 3.2 MPX& N95s got 5 MP cam. but images are cluttered and got tiny dots in Xpress Music 5800,while N95 8GB shoots in the dark room also clearly without dots ,even using ordinary led flash,here the mega pixel is not the subject,the clarity is). I waited eagerly to buy N97 if the camera is good as N958GB or better. But the results show very poor quality.The following images have been taken by fonearena.com blog during the N97 launch event in Bangalore ,India. .

Hi, couple of comments:
1. Your N95 8GB example is 640×480 (at least when I click on it that’s what opens). It’s taken in completely different circumstances etc. In other words not exactly an apples with apples comparison. I would urge you to look at those evaluations on the web which have done exactly this which show the N97 to be no worse than N95 8GB, to many there is a preference it seems to the improved colour in N97.
2. Without being there, without being able to inspect the N97 used and without being able to do a comparison this next comment is somewhat unproven. However, having seen many many shots over the years taken with grease marks on the clens cover glass I did wonder if there was a small trace, enough to impact the contrast and sharpness in the brighter areas. To me looking remotely at these and comparing with my own N97 images there seemed somethign not quite right in these specific images, where the contrast was very high.

1)I am sorry ,due to the file size of N97’s image I did not put the original size. But I hope what I try to show is visible in the images. the contrast . N 95 Seems better.
