When you enable the active standby screen you can see the search option in your home screen .It helps you to search every thing in your mobile phone. You may want to search for an address saved as a text file in your mobile. Just got to search and key in the words you look for in the search box, immediately you will get the the documents ,calendar entries,files,applications with the same key word and you can choose what document you are looking for from the updates screen.
Ok ,the main problem most of you have experienced is the speed of this application, it is very slow to load and search. so when we are in a hurry to get info, we better feel to go in to the menus and do a manual search my our self. SO how can you make this useful application fast.
1)Remove un wanted searches like searching application,contacts,multimedia
Normally I need to search my text files,documents,messages active notes calendar entires ,but I am not a media freak and most of my media don't have proper name to search all have date information as the numbers assigned by my device when i take pictures or videos. so i cannot do a search.
For example You can search directly your Contacts by going to contacts menu so don't waste the resources of this application ,take it off from search and make it faster. like wise first you list the unwanted thinks. then remove them from the search list. In my case I tick off contacts,book marks, images,videos,applications,files (AS there are alternative to do it so )
Search >>Options>>Settings>>Search Services >>My Content Configuration >>Tick the areas you want to search (messages,notes..etc.)and un tick the areas you don't want to search (contacts..etc..)>>OK
Thats all ! now you have done. Restart the application and search now you will see significant change in speed (but it depends on the number of the categories you set to search )
